Fairview Mountain Golf Club and all of its CPGA trained golf professionals believe strongly in the benefits of custom fitting. At Fairview Mountain we offer a full range of custom fitting programs covering putter & wedge fitting, iron & driver fitting, along with full set make up analysis. The benefits of custom fitting are plentiful, with the most important factor being the knowledge of knowing you have been fit for the best available equipment suited to your game and the elements that make up the way you swing the club such as: body make-up, club head speed, swing plane and angles of attack. Whether you're looking to hit your drives 10-15 yards longer, hit more greens in regulation, improve your wedge play or simply make more putts on a daily basis we have the fitting experts to help you out.
Custom Fitting & Our 5 Step Process
Interview Process
The 1st step is the interview process, during which one of our CPGA professionals will ask the customer questions relating to his/her current ball flight tendencies, current equipment set up, likes and dislikes of current equipment, and what he/she might be looking to achieve in the purchase of new equipment.
Static Fitting
Step 2, the static fitting for irons, is performed by one of our trained fitting specialists. The golfer goes through a series of measurements ranging from height, hand to floor measurement used to determine shaft length and lie angle, and hand dimensions to determine grip size.
Dynamic Swing Test
3rd up is the dynamic swing test, during which the golfer hits balls from an impact board with special tape applied to the face and sole of the club. Markings left on the sole and face tape after impact provide important information for the fitting specialist aiding him/her in fully understanding how impact is being affected by your current pre shot set up and golf swing.
Ball Flight Analysis
The most important of all the 5 steps, ball flight analysis is going to ultimately determine what club is right for you. During this step our trained experts will utilize our fitting systems providing you with a variety of clubs with slightly different specifications to isolate each fitting variable and determine the combination of lie angle, shaft length, shaft type, club model and grip size that gives you the best opportunity to achieve your desired ball flight.
Monitoring Performance
The final benefit of being fit by a CPGA club professional is that over time your game will change to some degree. Whether your swing improves through instruction or practice or deteriorates a little due to neglect or injury our fitting specialists will be there for follow up. Periodic evaluation of your ball flight or a quick couple of swings off the impact board will determine if any steps need to be taken with regards to your equipment. A swing change, club adjustment or a combination of both may be necessary to resolve or eliminate undesirable golf shots.
Benefits of Custom Fitting:
Custom fitting directly impacts the way in which the game of golf is played and is the reason why every major professional tour in the world have fitting specialists follow them from event to event. The processes are very similar but there are a varying degree of differences when it comes to the multiple aspects of the equipment fitting. Iron fitting, wedge fitting, driver fitting, putter fitting and even golf ball fitting are all very different yet all very important when it comes to maximizing our own personal results.
